The Elders urge UNSC members to work collectively

The United Nations Security Council should not only reflect national issues but also work collectively in the global interest. That was the message from members of The Elders, including Chair Mary Robinson, who urged the Council to be more robust on a number of issues, from Afghanistan to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The Elders is a group of independent global leaders founded by former President Nelson Mandela in 2007.
