Police suspect an electrical short circuit has triggered a fire at the popular textile outlet, Jakel Shah Alam in Section 7 this morning.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said investigation was still on-going to determine the extent of damages caused by the fire which was said to have engulfed 80 per cent of the outlet.
He said in a statement, cause of the fire is believed to be due to a short circuit in the premises. There are no casualties and we are also investigating to ascertain the level of damage sustained from the fire.
He said nine fire engines were deployed to the scene to control the blaze.
