Donald Trump appears to be trying to prime his supporters to attack Pelosi again by calling her "an animal" during a pre-election rally this week. The man is dangerously unhinged, but nearly as much as the rest of his base is, and that is always going to lead to violence in this country. But don't pretend that Trump doesn't know EXACTLY what he's doing with this rhetoric, as Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains.

In my opinion, it really seems like Donald Trump is trying to get Nancy Pelosi attacked again. And I say again, because even though Pelosi was not attacked, while her husband was in their home, she was in fact the target. Had she been there, she would have been attacked. And on Monday, the day before the midterms, Donald Trump, during a rally referred to Nancy Pelosi as an animal, he dehumanized the Democratic Speaker of the House of Representatives. And when you dehumanize somebody, and I'll read the full quote in a minute, but when you dehumanize somebody, you take away people's empathy for that individual. That is why you have seen these dictators throughout history. Some of the people that have cre, uh, created the worst genocides known to man. They do it by dehumanizing the other side so people feel less sympathy and empathy for those that are targeted.
That's why they do that. And here we have Donald Trump doing the same thing on Monday when he said, I think she's an animal too, to tell you the truth, they'll say, What a horrible thing. He called Nancy Pelosi an animal. I will never use the word again, but what she did to us in this country. And then he kind of trailed off. So I asked Trump, I ask him, Right now, I'm asking any conservative who stumbles upon this? What did Nancy Pelosi do to this country? I want an answer to that. I want any conservative out there to tell me straight up what Nancy Pelosi did that helped destroy your life. What kind of grudge do you have against her? And why? Because that's the question that these conservatives far too often do not get asked. Yeah, but why? Right? I, I think that's the question that reporters need to be asking these people when they make these horrible claims and they attack these people and dehumanize them.
Ask them, Yeah, but why? Like, what did she do specifically? Tell me what she did. How is your life worse? Because Nancy Pelosi exists. Now, I admit, I am no fan of Nancy Pelosi. I believe all of the attacks on her from the right are horrible and they're absolutely completely inaccurate. My issue with Nancy Pelosi, of course, is that she does not go far enough. She has not supported some very progressive legislation. That's the problem I have with her. Like I want more from her. They want to kill her. Okay? Those critiques are not the same, But what Trump is doing here could very easily lead to another attacker going into Pelosi's home and
Trying to do what the first guy failed to do. Trump knows this. That's why he's using this language. That's why he went after Pelosi on Monday. It is sick. It's disgusting. It's disturbing, and he knows exactly what he's doing using those words.
