WA Liberal Senator Dean Smith says we are “heading in the right direction” with getting more money for pensioners who want to go back into the workforce.
“So, what this initiative will do is actually double the amount people can earn a fortnight,” he told Sky News host Chris Smith.
“So, it will take it from $300 to $600 a fortnight, that’s up to $1200 a fortnight for couples.
“In the hearing today, people said this is a good start, they would like to see more done over time.
“But it’s important that we build confidence in this measure.”
