Who is liable to pay amount if cheque issuer dies. If a person dies, all his wealth including balances in his/her current accounts with a bank belongs to his legal heirs. For this reason, a bank will not pay a cheque when the cheque is presented for payment after the death of the person though the cheque was signed before the death occurred.
