Nagaland Dobashi Association on Monday held a press conference at hotel Crescent, Old NST, Kohima on the matter of customary courts in Nagaland. During the press conference it was learnt that cases which cannot be settled at the village court have to be brought to the customary court. However, in the absence of customary courts, such cases have to be redirected to the Supreme Court or the High Court, hence devaluing the true essence of the culture of the Nagas. Customary courts are people-friendly and also cost less in comparison to High court or Supreme courts
