Mayor Jacobs’ Small Business Series Features House-Hasson Hardware
KNOXVILLE, Tenn.— Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs interviewed Taylor Hasson from House-Hasson Hardware as part of his small business series.
Each week, the Mayor conducts interviews with small business owners, offering them the opportunity to talk about what they do; highlight their work; and share any future plans. A new vignette runs each Wednesday on the county and Mayor’s social media platforms. This month, the series focuses on anchor businesses across the county.
House-Hasson Hardware, headquartered in Knoxville off Water Plant Road, touts itself as “America’s largest independent regional hardware distributor,” supplying and advising more than 2,500 hardware and lumberyard dealers across the country.
The company was founded in 1906 by Taylor Hasson’s great grandfather and his friend.
“Our main mission is to make our customers the top priority,” Hasson said. “That’s our mission and philosophy – the customer comes first.”
He added: “We keep margins low. We want the businesses to succeed. We don’t really make a whole lot of margin on what we’re doing.”
The Mayor and Hasson also talked about the process.
“People often think that they go to the store and there’s nuts and bolts, but people don’t understand the process and it’s very intricate and complex involving a lot of people to actually manufacture those parts and get them to where they need to go,” Mayor Jacobs said.
