To work in the United States temporarily as a lawful nonimmigrant, A temporary workers must obtain respective U.S. work visa based on their planned employment purpose. Upon admission to the United States, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issues an online Form I-94 or Arrival-Departure Record showing the date of admission, class of admission, and admitted-until date. The admissions stamp in your travel document or the I-94 or I-94W shows your nonimmigrant status and the length of time you can legally remain in the United States.
