This is a big city far south of Seoul.
Apparently, Gwangju means “province of light.” Isn’t that cool?
Gwangju is known for its art, food, and as the root of Korean democracy.
This place is so much bigger and even more amazing than I thought.
Now... let’s go find our HOPE! Off we go!

I think that Gwangju must be a city with artistic inspiration.

This is an Asia culture center where plays, exhibits, educational programs,
and festivals are held.
I can feel that this city really cherishes the arts.
Also, isn’t it amazing that there are modern and traditional aspects right
in the middle of the city?

When I found out what these numbers meant, I knew I wanted to visit Gwangju.
I really wanted to know more about their songs.
The Korean people worked fiercely to achieve democracy for decades,
and Gwangju is the most symbolic city of Korean democracy.

Gwangju residents are preserving this special historical site and are hoping to spread
its story around the world.

So many people sacrificed themselves... They were so young.
There were even children...
This is so sad...
But, The world became a better place thanks to brave people like these.

What’s more is that every neighborhood is unique in its own way.

This is Mudeungsan Mountain that Hobi sang about.
Whoa, it’s so cool that there’s such a tall mountain right next to the city...
It’s so beautiful.

At the end of my tour, I realized the people I met,
the sceneries I saw, and everything I experienced...
Hope was right here.
Every moment I spent in Gwangju was the 화양연화.
There’s no doubt I’ll be coming back to this city.
This journey started because I was curious about my idol,
but now, I have begun to love Gwangju, just like Hobi.
