2,000 policemen to ensure SOP compliance in Penang

Penang police are prepared to face the influx of visitors into the state beginning tomorrow.

It is estimated that more than 50,000 visitors are expected to throng the state on the first weekend after the government lifted the interstate travel ban.

Deputy state police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh said about 2,000 policemen would be on the ground to monitor and ensure public compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP).

He said although all 36 police roadblocks statewide had ended following the lifting of the interstate travel ban recently, snap checks would be mounted.

He said after receiving replicas of the Proton X70 keys from Inari Technology Sdn Bhd at the factory here today.
