Business commentator Terry McCrann says the most important country in the world, the United States, is "literally leaderless".
It comes as US President Joe Biden has faced backlash over the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan and subsequent takeover by the Taliban.
"This is the most disgraceful retreat," Mr McCrann told Sky News Australia.
"Who is ever going to trust America again for a very long time.
"This is going to play out for a very long time, and it's going to play out very badly for all of us."
