On Wednesday, Sept 8th, CEO of Coinbase, Brian Armstrong released a twitter thread blowing the whistle on some behind-the-scenes conversations between the SEC and Coinbase around the company's planned release of their Lending feature, in which the SEC subpeonaed documents and threatened to sue Coinbase if they persisted. This is despite the SEC not having clear regulations in place and despite many other brokers offering lending products currently. In this video, I discuss why this decision will impact the entire crypto industry.
