Talk: The Americans with Disabilities Act was meant to protect employees. Can it really do so within technical roles? What if I'm not disabled - does the ADA still affect me? Does working on-site or remotely even matter anymore? This talk will discuss these issues and why the environment that we work in as technical engineers is hard to navigate, even despite having a disability. Looking at some historical examples, we'll see how some problems we thought were in the past still seem to linger. This talk is meant to provide an entertaining and thoughtful discussion of the challenge many face - who do I disclose my disability to and how much do I tell them?
