About Ampe Phnom Resort
Visited by many tourists, Ampe Phnom is a great historical resort to relax and enjoy a picnic with your family and friends. Ampe Phnom is located at a distance of about 5 kilometers from Kampong Speu where there is a natural river, walking trails, and large shade trees. Especially, there are a lot of funny macaques as well.
On top of the mountain has a beautiful old Buddhist temple where people visit an ancient pagoda or simply relax in one of the many bamboo huts along the river.
A whole fried chicken and catfish are famous here and you can buy them at the stalls along the river. This tourist cite has a lot of wild monkeys, attracted visitors to give food to them, take pictures and play with them. However, please also watch out for some as they might steal your food and belongings at the same time.
During traditional festivals, Ampe Phnom is crowded with local tourists coming to absorb natural air and enjoy swimming in the river. Part of the pagoda is also full of Cambodian visits to pay homage to monks and pray for their afterlife family.
