Green Sofa - A Conversation About Tomatoes and the Influence of Consumers

Today, it's all about complementary colors — and Switzerland’s favorite vegetable. Our Green Sofa is in the middle of the colorful tomato world of vegetable grower Beat Bösiger. He talks to host Christa Rigozzi about bumblebees in the greenhouse, the fragile balance in plant protection and the influence of consumers on his work, among other things.

What is the "Green Sofa"?

The Green Sofa is the centerpiece in our new multi-part conversation series that explores topics related to Swiss food and drink, modern agriculture and the role of crop protection in our daily lives.

Moderated by Christa Rigozzi, the individual episodes feature very different guests from different regions of Switzerland. But they have one thing in common: They are experts in their respective fields. And the quality of our food and the protection of our plants are matters close to their hearts.

Supplementing the episodes are sequences that provide insights into the working environments of the respective guests — whether the vineyard, the restaurant kitchen or the research laboratory. The Green Sofa is the connecting conversational element that enables us to question and discuss ideas and ideals that we all too often take for granted.
