On July 20, a major flood occurred in Zhengzhou City, the capital city of Henan province, located in the central part of China, causing heavy damage and casualties. In many parts of the city, the water was already over the tops of cars.

The worst casualties occurred in Zhengzhou subway line 5 and the Jingguang express road tunnel. The rescue teams from the Chinese Communist Party CCP were late in arriving, but many people took the initiative to help those around out of danger, exhibiting the innate goodness in human nature that brings a touch of warmth to people in the midst of a catastrophe.

The Jingguang Tunnel was filled up within 5 minutes. Many vehicles and people were not evacuated in time, resulting in devastating consequences. At the top of the Tunnel, two people worked together to rescue a person after the Tunnel was filled with water.
