Paul states that the Old Testament teaches that God justifies the
sinner on the principle of Faith and not merit. The Holy Spirit brings the
attention to Abraham, to make plain this truth. Abraham was deemed
righteous because he believed God, not because he did great works.
What shall we shay then is meant for us to understand that we cannot refute what God has said.
