Tropical depression or storm could develop just off Florida's east coast, but NHC drops odds to 50%

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) decreased the odds a bit Saturday night of Invest 90-L developing into a depression or a tropical storm just off the east coast of Florida.

As of Saturday evening, it has a 50-percent chance of development over the next five days and a 50-percent chance of developing over the next two days. This is down from 60-percent forecast earlier in the day.

Most forecast models don't develop the system into a very strong storm as it faces wind shear and some dry air to the north. Models also vary on taking the disturbance north, northwest and west (just north of Tampa Bay).
