A number of COVID-19 survivors have reported significant hair loss, a lingering and disheartening side effect that has affected people even after they have recovered from the virus. Cape Town dermatologist, Dr Dilshaad Asmal said that the physical and emotional stress that a COVID-19 patient experiences could lead to a reversible hair loss condition called telogen effluvium.
