How To Do A Bent Over Barbell Row + Where "Bad Form Can Be Utilized

I never would have thought I would see a gym stereotype in person before!!! It was...an interesting experience needless to say haha but that's what caused me to make this video. Standing completely straight up defeats the purpose of the barbell row. It's not to say that the "bad form" can't be utilized elsewhere, like a cable row or some sort of banded row you can do at home. For the barbell row, you can do one of two setups: unracking from a rack that is below knee height or lifting the bar from the ground at a deadlifting position. The best position to put your upper torso in is about a 45 degree angle. Not everyone is capable getting their upper bodies being parallel to the floor, nor is it ideal since it can cause low back pain. Regardless of how you start, make sure your elbows are tucked in, and pull with your elbows and squeeze your back. The best way to engage your back is to envision you're squeezing a pencil between your shoulder blades. You can also see how it's done in the video.
