Most of the costumes in Super Mario Odyssey celebrate some of the greatest moments in Mario’s history. But then there are also a bunch of other costumes in Super Mario Odyssey whose inclusion, well, let’s put it that way: If I were Nintendo reminding people about the origin story of those costumes, really wouldn’t be that high up in my list of priorities!
A bunch of the Super Mario Odyssey costumes just have really obscure origin stories, or originated under circumstances that don’t put Nintendo into a very favorable light.
Today we are going to focus on exactly those costumes. We are going to take a detailed look at the origin stories of three costumes that Nintendo probably shouldn’t have put into a mainline Mario game.
