In a Zoom meeting with ‘Yo Soy Tu Mismo’ (a group of Spanish devotees of Bhagavan Sri Ramana) on 18th July 2021, in answer to the questions, “There are people who in knowing this path feel that its radicality proposes to them a direction consisting of no longer having a sense of an enjoyment of many of the things of this life being able to consist of an alignment of our true nature with body, mind and speech to be as happy as we can be here, in accordance with Bhagavan's Teachings but not having to aim for a total renunciation of this dream being able to make it a happy dream. Why not be content with the fact that we get to live in the most coherent and aligned way with these Teachings here without having to be trying to withdraw our attention from the world and what we might come to love about it without so much selfishness but also not aiming to let go of it all?”, Michael James explains that surrender is a gentle path to complete renunciation, and then answers more questions about this and other aspects of Bhagavan’s teachings, particularly the practice of self-investigation and self-surrender.
While answering these questions, Michael discusses or refers to the following passages from Bhagavan’s writings:
